Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Systems play an increasingly important role in critical infrastructure as well as public spaces. Industrial facillities such as offshore oil rigs, FPSOs, marine vessels, power plants as well as municipalties, airports, train stations are increasingly covered by CCTV systems combined with artificial intelligence to combat terrorism, voilence and other types of situations such as riots. They facillitate the effective communicatioin of important information to authorities in case of a possible build up of crowd or left over luggages and other pre-determined safty and security hazards. It is also useful for effective operation of facilities with combine thermal an visual imaging technologies.
CCTV Systems are typically interfaced with fence intrusion detection systems, access control systems and fire alarm systems. Together these three systems are categorized as security systems. While it is difficult to find a single manufacturer who offers all the systems a System Integrator (SI) such as Vivo Asia can easily integrate solutions from different manufacturers to work in harmony to address a client requirement.
This course equips engineers and technicians with the required knowledge to design CCTV systems firstly based on area coverage criteria, operational and regulatory requirements and then on system sizing up. Key aspects such as redundancy of critical components, avoiding single point failures and achieving a good balance of price to performance is focused.
After completing the course engineers and technicians will be able to easily understand client and authority requirements and provide a complying solution. They will also be able to easily understand manufacturer literature and test and commission CCTV Systems.
