Private Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX) Systems
- Nalin Withana |

Private Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX) Systems are an essential system for operation of any organization today. It is relatively inexpensive and depending on the size of the facility and the number of users the system deployed can be scaled to suit the client needs.
The system typically provides different users the ability to call one another from various locations and also allow them to access the public switched telephone networks (PSTN) to make national or international calls. Functions such as auto attendant, voice mail, call barring, call accounting are available at user request.
This course equips engineers and technicians with the required knowledge to design PABX systems firstly based on functional requirements and then on system sizing up. Key aspects such as redundancy of critical components, avoiding single point failures and achieving a good balance of price to performance is focused.
After completing the system engineers and technicians will be able to easily understand client requirements and provide a complying solution. They will also learn about different types of systems such as analog systems, IP systems and hybrid systems.
